CARROT RIVER — Ila Boehm has been elected as mayor of Carrot River.
In a byelection held May 8, Boehm received 65 votes, while Brock Irvine received 45.
The byelection, made necessary when former mayor Bob Gagné resigned Nov. 14, was originally planned for March 21, but was delayed due to the pandemic.
An advance poll, held March 13, went as planned.
Boehm will serve as mayor until the next general civic election, which is planned for Monday, Nov. 9.
