BATTLEFORD - The Eiling Kramer Campground has a busy 2021 season and is expecting similar numbers in 2022.

The town is reporting the total number of campsite bookings at the Eiling Kramer Campground nearly doubled from 2020 to 2021. In 2020 there had been 499 bookings, but in 2021 it went up to 948.

At town council on March 21 the town's Parks and Recreation Director Jordan Schechtel reported the campground was back to pre-pandemic levels in 2021. "I think it will be similar or higher going into 2022," he told council.

The Eiling Kramer Campground was impacted by pandemic restrictions imposed on all campgrounds throughout much of 2020. The opening of the campground was delayed to June 1 due to restrictions and was initially limited to 50 per cent capacity; the provincial restrictions had also initially prevented out-of-province bookings. There were no restrictions at the campground in 2021.
