HUMBOLDT — A major weekend for Humboldt’s hockey community has been postponed due to the pandemic.

The third annual Conexus Credit Union Humboldt Broncos Memorial Golf Tournament, 2020 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Hall of Fame Induction Banquet and Hunter Brothers concert planned in August of this year will now take place on Aug. 6 and 7, 2021.

“This has been a difficult decision to come to over the last number of weeks,” said Brian Munz, one of the tournament’s hosts. “In saying that, we believe our primary responsibility is the safety of the community, Bronco families, sponsors, volunteers and guests.”

The decision was made in consultation with the City of Humboldt, Humboldt Broncos, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and the Hunter Brothers.

“Despite the disappointment of not being able to gather together this summer, we are already looking forward to the biggest event we have put together so far in August of 2021,” said Jared Bednar, the other tournament host.

Over the next few weeks, the event’s organizing committee will be in touch with sponsors and those who have already registered.
