Approximately 50 calls for service were made to the North Battleford RCMP during the 48-hour period between 6 a.m. Saturday, June 28 and 6 a.m. Monday, June 30.
These calls included eight false alarms, two municipal bylaw or noise complaints, six traffic complaints and three false or nuisance 911 calls.
Saturday
12:50 p.m. - Report of person uttering threats on Facebook. Message reviewed and found to be a verbal argument going back and forth between both parties with numerous insults but no threats.
1:15 p.m. - 24-year-old man charged with flight from police, dangerous driving and several Traffic Safety Act charges after members attempted to stop a motorcycle on 106th Street. The accused drove at a high rate of speed and ignored the police emergency lights when signalled to stop. Police did not pursue and located and seized the bike a short time later. The accused was known to the officer who located the subject shortly after 2 p.m. when he was taken into custody. He has since been released from custody and will make his first appearance in court Aug. 18.
5:43 p.m. - 31-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance, found by patrolling member extremely intoxicated and having difficulty standing on 14th Avenue.
6:57 p.m. - 37-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance, found by member extremely intoxicated on 100th Street.
10:16 p.m. - Call of a fight between two persons on 17th Avenue. 40-year-old woman and 36-year-old man located on scene, both intoxicated and both taken into custody. 40-year-old woman is facing one count of assault. The man charged with obstruction and resisting arrest after getting into an altercation with members on scene. Both have since been released from custody.
10:23 p.m. - Mischief to a vehicle parked on 1400 block of 112th Street sometime during previous evening. Sugar was poured into gas tank.
10:29 p.m. - Call of two suspects at a residence on 110th Street in possession of bear spray. Two women, 26 and 22, located and arrested on scene. 22-year-old has since been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Investigation ongoing.
11:07 p.m. - 26-year-old man arrested after a complaint of an intoxicated man urinating on a vehicle on 110th Street.
Sunday
12:22 a.m. - 53-year-old woman and 56-year-old man removed from a licensed premise after refusing to leave.
12:42 a.m. - Members called to a vehicle which had crashed into the guard rail on the bridges. The driver had left scene and the vehicle was abandoned. When members were on scene, the driver returned and was witnessed by members running in front of a vehicle driving by and was struck. She sustained minor injuries and was treated at hospital and later released. She was taken into police custody for breaching her curfew on a deferred custody and supervision order.
1:28 a.m. - Report of a 12-year-old youth missing from his residence after throwing a tantrum. Located by members later in evening and returned home.
2:44 a.m. - 22-year-old man arrested on 101st Street in possession of open alcohol and found to be on several conditions out of Lloydminster. Found with a concealed knife and facing weapons charges as well.
4:21 a.m. - Man calling 911 from a pay phone on 100th Street looking for a ride back to Avenue J in North Battleford. 24-year-old man located, quite intoxicated and arrested. Unaware that no such address exists in the city. Held in custody until sober.
4:40 a.m. - 911 call of an assault in progress at a residence on 103rd Street. Several intoxicated persons involved in an altercation at the residence. No serious injuries and investigation ongoing.
5:36 a.m. - 14-year-old youth arrested and charged with failing to comply with undertaking. Complaint of intoxicated youth causing a scene on 107th Street. Turned over to parents when sober.
12:36 p.m. - A 22-year-old man facing a charge of theft under $5,000 after shoplifting from a business on 101st Street within an hour of his release from cells on unrelated matters.
3:33 p.m. - Minor two-vehicle collision on Carlton Trail reported. No injuries.
5:20 p.m. - 54-year-old woman arrested and charged with causing a disturbance after report of an intoxicated person passed out on 101st Street.
5:20 p.m. - Call of a disturbance and loud party on 105th Street. 44-year-old woman arrested for breach of the peace and held in custody until sober. Warning about noise given.
7:24 p.m. - 46-year-old woman arrested for causing a disturbance, found extremely intoxicated on Battleford Road.
10:56 p.m. - Report of intoxicated people causing a disturbance on Borden Crescent. 16-year-old youth arrested and charged with failing to comply with probation by consuming alcohol. A 27-year-old man was also arrested for causing a disturbance and held in custody until sober.
11:08 p.m. - 60-year-old man arrested and charged with assault after members responded to a 911 call on St. Laurent Drive of an assault in progress. Accused was remanded in custody until his first appearance in court July 2.
Monday
4:23 a.m. - Vehicle driving erratically on St. Laurent Drive struck a parked car. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Driver of the car left scene, located and arrested by members a short distance away. The 16-year-old driver remains in custody. High speeds appear to have been involved and an RCMP accident re-constructionist attended the scene. Charges are still pending.
