The fourth annual Gallery of Fall Fashion Show not only brought a donation into the Humboldt Gallery but also brought people into the space.

The Humboldt Gallery is an amazing space says Lana Muggli, owner of Brickhouse Clothing, and wants everyone to know it.

“I love this place. It’s so nice to have art in Humboldt. It feels like we finally have a little bit of culture to come look at. People need to come and enjoy this space, it’s beautiful.”

Humboldt and District Museum Director Jennifer Hoesgen says she jumped at the chance to have Muggli and her collection into the Gallery. Fashion shows and different kinds of fundraiser and community events are exactly the type of things she wants brought into the Gallery.

“When we built the Gallery, we really wanted it to have a lot of community use. We want people to feel welcome here.” Says Hoesgen.

Hoesgen says it is so wonderful for Muggli to donate all the proceeds to the Museum and Gallery and it’s one of her favourite events.

This is another year that the fashion show was sold out.

Hoesgen says it is a testament to Muggli.

“She’s really personable, she’s really sweet, people go in there and feel really comfortable.”

The Gallery atmosphere was perfect for the low key fashion show. Hoesgen announced before the show that these are models that eat.

“The models are the friends and the family we see on the street everyday. So it’s like us reflecting back on ourselves and it’s very low key and a lot of fun. People enjoy that aspect of the fashion show.” Says Hoesgen.

Showing off Brickhouse product helps when Muggli has models she knows. A lot of them come into the store and shop,  she says.

“They come and shop at the store so I kind of know what fits them and what they like. I try to put them in outfits that they actually feel good in.”

Along with the donation to the Gallery, Muggli also brought new people into the Gallery with the show. Some people were seeing the space for the first time, she says.

Hoesgen says that the fashion show is just one of the things she wants to see the Gallery space used for. She wants people to come in and tell them what they want to see.

“We wanted to provide more community programming, performing arts, that type of thing. So if people have other ideas they want to use the gallery for, we’re really open to that.”
