Four arrested after search of Lanigan home turns up forged documents, weapons, cannabis

Four have been charged after Humboldt-Langian RCMP executed a search warrant at a Lanigan home and found a large quantity of credit cards, identification cards, forged documents and stolen personal mail.

Humboldt-Langian RCMP arrested four after a search of a Lanigan home turned up a large quantity of credit cards, identification cards, forged documents and stolen personal mail.

LANIGAN — Four have been arrested and charged after Humboldt-Langian RCMP executed a search warrant at a Lanigan home and found a large quantity of credit cards, identification cards, forged documents and stolen personal mail.

Police said they also found and seized illegal cannabis plants and various weapons including homemade conducted energy weapons and bear spray during the Oct. 14 search warrant conducted at the Antrim Street residence.

“Humboldt-Lanigan RCMP are committed to proactive crime reduction – it’s an important part of keeping our communities safe,” said Cpl. Ivan Ottenbreit, acting detachment commander of the Humboldt-Lanigan RCMP, in a media release.

“The charges and property seizures that resulted from this in-depth investigation are just the latest example of the results of this commitment.”

Kailyn Friesen, 32, of Lanigan is charged with:

  • 1 count, theft under $5,000
  • 1 count, possession of property obtained by crime
  • 2 counts, possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count, forgery
  • 4 counts, fail to comply with release order
  • 4 counts, fail to comply with undertaking
  • 1 count, harvesting cannabis

Ryan Friesen, 24, of Leask is charged with:

  • 1 count, theft under $5,000
  • 1 count, possession of property obtained by crime
  • 2 counts, possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count, forgery
  • 5 counts, fail to comply with probation order
  • 1 count, harvesting cannabis

Josephine Bear, 31, of Prince Albert is charged with:

  • 1 count, theft under $5,000
  • 1 count, possession of property obtained by crime
  • 2 counts, possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count, forgery
  • 4 counts, fail to comply with undertaking
  • 1 count, harvesting cannabis

Police added Bear was also arrested on several outstanding warrants.

Shaye Peters, 18, of Leask is charged with:

  • 1 count, theft under $5,000
  • 1 count, possession of property obtained by crime
  • 2 counts, possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count, forgery
  • 1 count, harvesting cannabis
