In the wake of the recent U.S. Powerball news, readers are probably wondering where all that money spent on lottery tickets goes.
As it turns out, a good chunk of it goes back to programs in the community.
Both the City of North Battleford and the RM of North Battleford receive a total of $100,000 each year through the Saskatchewan Lotteries Community Grant Program to fund local non-profits that provide a cultural, recreation or sport service to their residents.
