The Greenwater RCMP dealt with two stabbings two days apart from each other and charged two different people.
The first stabbing took place May 15 main service road of the Yellow Quill First Nation. When the RCMP arrived, they located a 22-year-old male victim who had been stabbed. He was transported to hospital in Saskatoon with serious injuries.
After an investigation, Austin Severight, a 20-year-old from Yellow Quill, was arrested May 30 and charged with attempted murder, uttering threats, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, mischief under $5,000, and fail to comply with a judge's recognizance. He will appear in Rose Valley Provincial Court on July 5.
Two days after the first stabbing, on May 17, the RCMP located a 43-year-old male victim who had been stabbed at a residence south of Lintlaw. He was transported to hospital in Yorkton with what were described as serious injuries. Police also located a 40-year-old woman who had been assaulted. An adult male was located near the scene. He was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
Shawn Macdonald, an 18-year-old from the RM of Hazel Dell is charged with aggravated assault, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, assault and mischief under $5,000. His first court appearance was in Wadena Provincial Court May 18. His next appearance will be in Rose Valley Provincial Court July 5. He remains in custody at this time.
