HUMBOLDT — Humboldt RCMP are asking for help to identify those that are entering dumpsters belonging to businesses north of Fifth Avenue between 14th and 16th Street, damaging property and tearing up garbage bags.

"The individual(s) are damaging property and ripping open garbage bags," local police said in a media release. "They are spreading this garbage all over the back alley, which takes hours to clean up. Businesses have already tried multiple deterrent methods to get the individuals to stop, with no luck and just want this behaviour to stop."

Police said they were made aware of the problem on April 25.

These actions could fall under the crime of mischief, RCMP said, which makes it an offence to damage or interfere with the lawful use and enjoyment of property.

If you have information about this or any other crime, please contact Humboldt RCMP at 306-682-2535 or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
