Another member of the team at Battlefords Publishing is celebrating some much-deserved recognition.
Jessica Woytowich from the sales department was selected as a Glacier Media Group President’s Club award recipient for 2014.
The award recognized individuals in the Prairie Community Media Group for their outstanding performance in their employment duties. These include two display or classified sales representatives, one sales manager/publisher and one management or staff employee from any non-sales department.
Woytowich finished second among the Prairie News Group in her category as top display or classified sales representative, achieving the second-highest cumulative point rating.
Points are allocated based on two criteria. One evaluates the revenue growth percentage and that counts for 75 per cent of the points. The other is the growth percentage in yield for the same period and that counts for 25 per cent.
Sales representatives must meet a minimum point score of 100 for total revenue and yield calculations to qualify for Presidents Club status.
In recognition of her award, Woytowich and her husband received a trip from April 17 to 22 to the Mayan Riviera, Mexico, to the El Dorado resort.
She also has received an award trophy and that arrived only a few weeks ago.
Her reaction to the recognition was “shock," she said. “I was in the running for something as exciting as this and came in second place.”
“I had never been to Mexico before. It was like a honeymoon.” She and her husband Darrell are celebrating their five-year anniversary this year.
Woytowich is originally from Thompson, Man. and lived in Red Deer, Alta., and has lived in the Battlefords since 2004. Her family includes a four-year-old son, and they are looking to buy a house in the new year.
She has been with Battlefords Publishing for two years. She had held sales jobs before, but the job with Battlefords Publishing has provided her with the most responsibility.
As for 2015, Woytowich is hoping to repeat the recognition of a year earlier, as she is currently in first place in her category. But she is not resting on her laurels.
“You’re not slowing down just because you’re in first place, because anything can happen, someone can catch up to me. It’s the Christmas season, the busiest season.”
Woytowich attributes her success to an “ad-impact program, just inheriting accounts as time goes on, increasing customers’ advertising, being out in the public more, making more phone calls, just trying to get more business.”
Woytowich paid tribute to publisher Alana Schweitzer and sales manager Valerie Higgs for their support and trusting her with big accounts. She wants to thank all her customers for helping her achieve the honour.
“Without my customers this wouldn’t be possible,” said Woytowich.
