When lottery players win, they often can’t contain their excitement. That was the case when Kinistino resident Brian Shmyr discovered the EXTRA he added to his June 15 LOTTO MAX ticket won him $100,000.

“I scanned my ticket on the Lotto Spot! app at home,” he said. “I jumped up, did a little dance… and threw my back out.”

“It’s OK though,” he laughed. “I feel pretty good now.”

To confirm his win, Shmyr said he took his ticket to the store shortly after scanning it.

“Once I verified it at the store, I did another little jig and some hoot and hollering,” he said.

The happy winner has a couple plans for his winnings.

“I’m going to pay some bills and put some money into my son’s college fund,” he said. “After that, I’m going to go fishing!”

Shmyr purchased his winning ticket at Circle K Convenience, located at 208 Saskatchewan Ave. West in Melfort. He won his prize by matching the last six digits of the EXTRA number – 6066649.
