Lac La Ronge man and woman arrested for trafficking, firearms offences

On Aug. 5, at approximately 7:35 p.m., La Ronge RCMP and the La Ronge General Investigation Section executed a search warrant at a trap line south of La Ronge, off Molanosa Road.

Officers searched a camper onsite and located and seized three firearms, ammunition, 30 grams of cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

As a result, a male and a female present at the site were arrested.

The male, Floyd Ratt,32, of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band area was charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon
  • unlicensed possession firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • 12 counts, possession weapon contrary to order
  • 4 counts, fail to comply with release order
  • possession of weapon obtained by crime
  • unsafe storage of a firearm

The female, Mary Johnson, 38, of Lac La Ronge Indian Band area was charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000
  • 3 counts, unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon
  • unlicensed possession firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition
  • 4 counts, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • 3 counts, fail to comply with probation order
  • possession of weapon obtained by crime
  • 3 counts, unsafe storage of a firearm

Both will appear in court on Sept. 7.
