Many drunks spend time in police cells

North Battleford RCMP responded to 25 calls for service between 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 9.

Tuesday

Over 25 calls for service, including two 911 hang up calls.

7:37 a.m. - Call received of a phone scam that called the complainant numerous times throughout the day.

11:20 a.m. - Complaint of theft from a residence on 114th Street. Suspect entered the residence and stole the homeowner's wallet. Suspect has been identified, matter is still under investigation.

12:00 p.m. - Complaint of a domestic assault from 101st Street. Matter was said to have occurred over the course of the weekend, minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.

12:43 p.m. - Police responded to a complaint of an unconscious and intoxicated man at the library, however when police attended the man had already left.

2:53 p.m. - Complaint of a truck driving through the Ross Crescent Park. The vehicle driver was located and matter dealt with.

4:18 p.m. - While on patrol police located a highly intoxicated man. Man was arrested and lodged in cells for his own safety until sober.

6:15 p.m. - Complaint received of a motor vehicle collision near the east end Tim Hortons. No injuries to either party, matter still under investigation.

7:07 p.m. - Call of some cut trees by the water tower that have begun to attract bumblebees. Police attended, Bees dealt with accordingly.

9:00 p.m. - Compliant of an intoxicated woman at the Gold Eagle Casino. Woman arrested and lodged in cells for her own safety until sober.

9:00 p.m. - Complaint of a man who was located failing to comply with his conditions of release. The man was arrested and lodged in cells. Charges are pending.

9:52 p.m. - Police received a complaint of a child custody issue, where a mother refused to relinquish custody of her daughter to her father as agreed. Matter is still being investigated.

10:18 p.m. - Complaint of an intoxicated woman knocking on apartment doors on 99th Street. The woman was subsequently located and arrested.

11:30 p.m. - Complaint of a man that had been reported as attempting to harm himself on 108th Street. Police attended, the man did not harm himself and appeared to be intoxicated by drug. The man was subsequently taken to the hospital for further observation.

Wednesday

12:19 a.m. - Intoxicated man located walking down 99th Street. The man was arrested for his own safety and lodged in cells.

12:19 a.m. - Intoxicated man located walking down Hock Avenue cursing and shouting. . The man was arrested for his own safety and lodged in cells. Charges are currently pending.

1:52 a.m. - Complaint of an intoxicated youth lying in the middle of the road on Panton Avenue. The youth was transported to the hospital for further observation.

1:53 a.m. - Complaint of an intoxicated man attempting to gain access to an apartment on 99th Street. The man was promptly arrested and lodged in cells until sober.

2:55 a.m. - Complaint received of some broken windows on 109th Street. Police attended and located two individuals. Charges are pending.

4:42 a.m. - Complaint of a loud party on 101st Street. Police attended, two individuals were subsequently arrested and lodged in cells.
