Meadow Lake RCMP charge long-term care employee with defrauding 11 residents

The police investigation determined that between 2016 and 2018, an employee allegedly defrauded 11 residents as well as the long-term care home itself

MEADOW LAKE - Update: Guelda Wood, who also goes by the name of Glenda Wood, was given a 12-month suspended sentence on Sept. 19, 2022. 

Original story: Meadow Lake RCMP charged a long-term care employee for allegedly defrauding 11 residents and the care home over a two-year span. 

On Dec. 7, 2018, Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of fraud at a local long-term care home. Since receiving the initial report, police officers collected evidence and conducted interviews with many witnesses. That investigation has determined that between 2016 and 2018, an employee defrauded 11 residents as well as the long-term care home itself.

Wood will appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on April 18.
