Meesto due in court again Sept. 4

The individual charged in a break and enter and robbery near Edam in January will be back in court Sept. 4, by closed-circuit TV.

Darian Jordan Meesto made his latest appearance in court on Aug. 29 by CCTV. A show cause hearing was scheduled, but his matters were instead adjourned to Sept. 4 to allow time for a bail supervision report to be prepared.  

Meesto had been serving at Lethbridge Correctional Centre in Alberta at the time of his latest charges. The counts are in connection to an incident on Jan. 12 north of Edam near highway 26. Around 1 am on that date, Turtleford RCMP responded to a complaint about a robbery and break and enter, according to police

Meesto faces charges of break and enter and committing robbery, use of a firearm in a careless manner, pointing a firearm in a careless manner, discharge a firearm while being reckless, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence, and forcible confinement. He remains in custody.
