There has been a mini-shuffle impacting the education portfolios in the provincial cabinet.

Premier Brad Wall announced Friday that Don Morgan will take over the education portfolio in addition to his current portfolio of minister of Labour and Workplace Safety.

As well, Rob Norris returns to cabinet as minister of Advanced Education.

The shuffles were prompted by the decision of Education Minister Russ Marchuk to step away from his cabinet role. Instead Marchuk will take on the role of legislative secretary to Morgan.

In a news release Marchuk said, "while I fully support the direction our government is taking in education, our government's education agenda is entering a crucial period that will require significant resources that I feel I am not able to provide at this time."
