A meeting dedicated solely to the setup of Neighbourhood Watch in North Battleford has been set up.
The meeting will be Wednesday at Don Ross Centre room 107 at 7 p.m.
Plans to reintroduce Neighbourhood Watch in the city had been announced earlier and were part of the presentation at the City's meeting on public safety Sept. 30.
Unlike that meeting, which featured a broad range of information including safety tips, this one will be solely dedicated to details on Neighbourhood Watch. Those looking to get involved are encouraged to attend.
Neighbourhood Watch uses community volunteers to watch out for peoples' safety in their neighbourhoods. The local RCMP have pledged their assistance to help establish it.
This will be one of a couple of meetings on the topic of public safety in the coming weeks. Steve Cormons has organized a Community Wellness Public Meeting Nov. 8 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1202 - 105th St. at 6:30 p.m.
The focus of that meeting is to provide a forum for people to be heard and share their concerns on safety issues, with city officials, policing, social agencies, health and education officials invited to attend.
