There are still extremely dry conditions in the Battlefords area and as a result North Battleford Fire Department is reminding residents the open air burning ban is still in effect.
The ban was imposed before the Labour Day long weekend in response to the dry conditions in the area.
As well, recent grassfire incidents erupted around the city requiring the response of emergency personnel, prompting the open air burning ban.
The open air burning ban means that controlled burning or any other kind of burning outside of an approved fire pit is prohibited until further notice.
Anyone with questions and concerns can contact NB fire chief Albert Headrick at 306-445-1779.
