P.A. man facing weapons, drug trafficking charges, remains in custody

A Prince Albert man facing drug trafficking and weapons charges hasn’t been released on bail after having another show cause hearing. Kevin Ackegan, 40, appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court again on May 1 for another show cause hearing.

A Prince Albert man facing drug trafficking and weapons charges hasn’t been released on bail after having another show cause hearing.

Kevin Ackegan, 40, appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court again on May 1 for another show cause hearing. He also had a show cause hearing on April 21. Ackegan has been held in custody since his arrest on Feb. 26.

Prince Albert Police arrested him during a traffic stop after they searched his vehicle and discovered two firearms, ammunition, a machete, bear spray, a knife, hydromorphone, methamphetamine, and Gabapentin pills, as well as Canadian, U.S., and Jamaican currency.

The matter was adjourned and Ackegan is now scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court May 20 for another show cause hearing.
