P.A. RCMP: Attempts to steal vehicles while occupied may be related

PRINCE ALBERT — Prince Albert RCMP say three separate reports of vehicle thefts/attempted vehicle theft may be related. They are asking the public to report any suspicious activity or sightings of the vehicles reported stolen.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 16, there was a report of an attempted theft of vehicle by two males armed with a firearm and bear mace and wearing bandanas across their faces attempted to steal an occupied vehicle on Little Red River. The driver of the vehicle was able to drive away and was not physically harmed.

Around 3 p.m. there was a report of a theft of a vehicle on Sturgeon Lake First Nation that is believed to have occurred a few hours earlier. An older model white Ford F150 was stolen with Saskatchewan license plate 113 MUL. At the time of this release, RCMP could know confirm whether the vehicle was occupied at the time.

Around 4 p.m. there was a report of a theft of a vehicle in the Christopher Lake area. Three males armed with a firearm stole an occupied 2015 black Dodge Ram truck with Saskatchewan license plate 012 IZK. The suspects were reported to be wearing bandanas across their faces and hoodies and drove away in the stolen black truck as well as a white truck. RCMP said the driver of the vehicle was not physically harmed.

Prince Albert RCMP say they are actively investigating these incidents. The RCMP is asking anyone with information about these incidents to contact police. They are also asking the public to use caution if you live or are driving in the area, especially if you are approached by someone in vehicles matching the descriptions above. Ensure your personal vehicles are locked. Call 911 in an emergency.
