Police ask public’s help locating Nakota Pooyak

If you see Nakota Pooyak, do not approach him. Report sightings and information on his whereabouts to your local police service.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - Investigation by the North Battleford Crime Reduction Team (CRT) determined two men, on warrant issued by Correctional Service Canada for being unlawfully at large, may be in a residence on Sweetgrass First Nation. 

On Jan. 19, CRT officers executed a search warrant at the residence, with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Battlefords detachment, Warrant Enforcement and Suppression TeamCritical Incident Response Team, Police Dog Services, and Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan.

Police approached and contained the residence. One of the wanted men, 21-year-old Adam Semaganis from Poundmaker First Nation, surrendered and was arrested without incident.

Officers then executed the search warrant. They cleared the home of other occupants and three women were arrested on outstanding warrants from Battlefords RCMP, Regina Police Service and Saskatoon Police Service. Officers conducted a thorough search, but didn’t locate the second wanted man.

CRT is now asking for the public’s assistance locating 29-year-old Nakota Pooyak of Sweetgrass First Nation.

Nakota Pooyak is 5-foot-10 and 140 pounds. He had brown hair and brown eyes. He has a scar by his left eye. 

Investigation has determined that Nakota Pooyak has been on Sweetgrass First Nation recently and he is also known to travel to the Battlefords area. His current whereabouts are unknown.
