MAYMONT — Update: RCMP say the eastbound lanes of Highway 16 at Maymont have reopened. They were closed several hours Sunday for an investigation.
They expect to release more information Monday,
Original release: RCMP say Highway 16 eastbound lanes will be blocked for most of the day Sunday at Maymont in relation to an RCMP investigation.
There are detours in place through the community of Maymont to Highway 376, east on a grid road and then back to Highway 16. Motorists can expect delays, say RCMP.
There is no risk to public safety for individuals travelling in the area, say RCMP.
They advise the public to monitor the Highway Hotline for road closure updates and say they will provide updates regarding the RCMP presence when they are able.
