PORCUPINE PLAIN — A Porcupine Plain man has won $100,000 from the lottery.

Jeffery Smith bought a Lotto 6/49 ticket from the Parkland Co-op C-Store. The extra on the ticket matched the last six digits of the winning number – 2375637.

He discovered his win while using a ticket checker a few days later, although he said he didn’t immediately realize what he was looking at and scanned the ticket three times before he realized it was a $100,000 winner.

“I didn’t really have a reaction to be honest with you,” Smith said, recounting how he passed the ticket over to the cashier to have it verified on their terminal to confirm he was about to become $100,000 richer.

Smith said he plans to use it to pay down some debts.
