Preliminary hearing set for Jacob Sewap's accused killer

Police responded to an assault at a residence in Sandy Bay in December 2020 and 54-year-old Sewap was found injured. He died as a result of his injuries in early January 2021

PRINCE ALBERT – A preliminary hearing has been set for a Sandy Bay man charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jacob Sewap.

On Feb. 10 the hearing for 24-year-old Lenny Sinclair was set for Sept. 27 in Prince Albert court.

The Prince Albert RCMP General Investigation Section arrested Sinclair on Oct. 21, 2021, in Pelican Narrows after a 10-month police investigation.

Police say they had responded to an assault at a residence in Sandy Bay in late December 2020 and 54-year-old Sewap was located injured. He died as a result of his injuries Jan. 6, 2021.

The charges against Sinclair haven’t been proven in court.
