City council in North Battleford pushed forward Monday night with more efforts towards improving the Cameron McIntosh Airport.

A resolution passed at Monday's meeting on an administration recommendation to proceed with a grant application in the amount of $50,000 under the Community Airport Partnership.

It would go towards the connection of the emergency generator at the air terminal/EMO centre to the main runway lights and CCTV inspection, and spot repairs as required on the airfield drainage system at the airport.

It is also with the understanding that the City would commit to fund 50 per cent of the cost, with the CAP funding the other 50 per cent.

According to a memo dated Feb. 22, the deadline for applying for the 2013 grant is April 1, with the estimates for the general connection in the range of $15,000 with $35,000 applied to drainage evaluation.

Council unanimously voted in favor of the resolution Monday, clearing the way for the application to proceed.
