RCMP locate 'armed and dangerous' man wanted on Canada-wide warrant

CUMBERLAND HOUSE — A 28-year-old male who is facing charges for a number of incidents that occurred in the Cumberland House area between Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 has been located and arrested.

RCMP issued a release Thursday saying was located and arrested by the Carrot River RCMP, Nipawin RCMP and the Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team on Sept. 14 without incident at a residence in Zenon Park.

On Sept. 11, RCMP had asked the public for assistance in locating Bloomfield but warned that he was considered to be armed and dangerous and that he should not be approached.

RCMP said he was facing the following charges:

  • 2 counts, operate a conveyance while prohibited;
  • 1 count, assault;
  • 1 count, assault causing bodily harm;
  • 1 count, unsafe storage of a firearm;
  • 1 count, use a firearm in a careless manner;
  • 1 count, unlawful confinement;
  • 1 count, possession of a firearm for a purpose dangerous to the public peace;
  • 3 counts, possession of a firearm while prohibited;
  • 1 count, take motor vehicle without consent;

Bloomfield was also wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for parole violation.

They said he had ties to Nipawin and Saskatoon and that a vehicle investigators believed to be associated to Bloomfield was located Sunday in Birch Hills.
