It was a highly successful week for the Northeast Red Sox as they swept a pair of contests in Saskatoon Men’s Baseball League action.
The Red Sox kicked off their June 25 doubleheader against the C Division’s Cardinals.
Luc Casavant was solid on the mound for the Red Sox as he pitched four innings to pick up the victory as the Red Sox cruised at a five inning 13-3 victory.
Offensively the Red Sox were lead by Devin Gerwing who blasted a three run home run in the victory.
After a short break the Red Sox returned to the diamond for a match up against the A Division’s Brewers.
Logan Casavant and Jordan Wouters were solid on the mound for the Red Sox as they combined to allow just five runs in a 6-5 Red Sox win.
Braden Messer lead the way offensively for the Red Sox as he finished 2-for-3 with four runs batted in.
The win pushes the Red Sox’s winning streak to four games, and improves their overall record to 10-2 on the season, good enough for first place in the seven team B Division standings, 0.5 game up on the second place Tigers.
Looking ahead the Red Sox enjoy a week off before returning to the field on July 6 for a matchup against the Cannons.
