Lenny Sinclair is charged with second-degree murder

PRINCE ALBERT – A Sandy Bay man made his first court appearance Monday on charges of second-degree murder in the death of Jacob Sewap.

Prince Albert RCMP General Investigation Section arrested Lenny Sinclair, 24, on Oct. 21 in Pelican Narrows after a 10-month police investigation.

Police had responded to an assault at a residence in Sandy Bay in late December 2020 and 54-year-old Sewap was located injured. He died as a result of his injuries in early January 2021.

Sinclair was remanded in custody today and his matter was adjourned to Oct. 26 in Prince Albert Provincial Court.

The charges against Sinclair haven’t been proven in court.
