You can mark Saturday, Sept. 28 on your calendar as the date when North Battleford's Centennial committee will recreate the famous "four-corners" photograph at 101st Street and 11th Avenue.
The committee has announced a 100th anniversary "centennial historical picture" event that day. The plan is for a modern day, centennial year version of the panoramic 1938 four point photograph taken at that same location. That photo was taken to celebrate the 25th anniversary of North Battleford.
The plan is for people to gather on the street corner at 11 a.m. for the photograph. Local photographer Paul Sayers of Viewpoint Photographic Design will set up his camera to take the picture at the location.
Residents are encouraged to attend and take part in the photo, and "be a part of history," according to the committee.
The event is the latest in a line of commemorative events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the city of North Battleford. The biggest event still to take place will be closing ceremonies on Dec. 31 at the CUPlex. Plans for that day are to include the closing and setting in place of a 100-year time capsule.
