The folks at Loraas Environmental Services North Battleford did their part to bring Christmas cheer to families in need this holiday season. They partnered with businesses throughout the city to collect food and donations for the Empty Stocking Fund.
Monday afternoon they brought their sleigh down to make the formal donation. Seen in the sleigh are: Tyler Degerness, operations supervisor of Loraas Environmental, Erin Katerynych, executive director of the Empty Stocking Fund, Loraas branch manager Ruebecca Fiddler and Les Watch, president of TG Watch Industries, which built the sleigh.
According to Fiddler, they collected and donated 5,000 lbs of food, over $1000 cash donations and 1,000 boxes of cereal for the Food for Kids program.
The Empty Stocking Fund finished up handing out its Christmas hampers Sunday. According to numbers provided by Katerynych, 409 hampers were distributed, helping out 1,484 people.
