“We thought the attendance would be down because of the hot weather,” stated Huxted.
Though it didn’t seem to affect the attendance, the cattle entries were down this year. Some areas of the hall exhibits were also down, however others were up, to even things out.
Although the petting zoo was unable to make it to the fair, Mr. Z., the juggler, saved the day by filling in and did an excellent job of keeping the youngsters entertained. There was also a variety of extra games and activities for them to participate in
Horse entries were down this year, but there were still enough to run a good competition. According to organizer Debbie Furber, everyone seemed pleased with the event, especially those who had youngsters participating.
“There are lots of classes for the little kids to enter and it is a good learning fair,” commented Furber.
Though entries were down, there were numerous large classes in the Senior horse events, who all said it was one of toughest competitions they've been to in awhile. The day came to an end with the grandstand, consisting of local talent, which was very well received, and a great finish to a great day!
