TISDALE — Tisdale’s Remembrance Day ceremony will be held outside at the Cenotaph in Memorial Park this year.

The service is planned to begin at 10:30 a.m. and end shortly after 11 a.m.

Sam McAdam, president of the Royal Canadian Legion Tisdale Branch #50, said that while the Legion wanted to do it inside the RECplex, COVID-19 made that a challenge.

“When we can we will go back to the RECplex, but we don’t want to put 500 people in that building and be responsible for spreading COVID,” McAdam said. “We don’t have enough people to be checking everybody if they’re vaccinated or not, so it wouldn’t be practical to meet at the RECplex.”

McAdam is advising community members to dress warmly.

“It’s the 100th anniversary of the poppy this year, so we’re celebrating that.”
