Toronto men appear in Sask. Court on drug trafficking charges

Mohamud and Mahamed remanded into custody after court appearance

LA RONGE - Two Toronto men arrested in northern Saskatchewan for allegedly trafficking Cocaine weren’t released on bail after their first court appearance.

Mohamed Abukar Mohamud, 22, and Dahir Mahamed, 21, appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court Sept. 20, on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

The charges against Mohamud and Mahamed haven’t been proven in court.

They were arrested after La Ronge RCMP General Investigation Section and La Ronge RCMP raided a residence on the 500 block of Elders Road. Police seized about 81 grams of suspected cocaine.

Mohamud and Mahamed were remanded into custody and appear in court on Oct. 25 to enter an election.
