Town of Battleford employees honoured

At Monday’s Battleford town council meeting, Mayor Derek Mahon announced for the public the recipients recognized for years of service at the 2015 Christmas banquet Nov. 27 at the Alex Dillabough Centre.

At Monday’s Battleford town council meeting, Mayor Derek Mahon announced for the public the recipients recognized for years of service at the 2015 Christmas banquet Nov. 27 at the Alex Dillabough Centre.

Recognized for serving on town boards were: Shelley Boutin-Gervais, Parks and Recreation board, five years; Joan Rice, Fred Light Museum board, 30 years; and Maxine Burdett, Fred Light Museum board, 30 years.

Battleford Fire Department firefighters Ames Leslie, 15 years, and Curtis Watts, 20 years, were recognized.

Town employees recognized for years of service were Aubrey Whittleton of Public Works and Utilities, 10 years, and Bernie Leslie, Fred Light Museum, 35 years.

Retired employees recognized were: Public Works and Utilities Superintendent Kevin Chaykowski, 27 years; Parks and Recreation Superintendent Randy Redding, 35 years; and Town Administrator Sheryl Ballendine, 35 years.

New employees welcomed were Parks and Recreation Superintendent Jordan Schechtel, Assistant Administrator Conrad Olson, Greg Glencross of Public Works and Utilities and Braydon Amson and James Chaykowski of Parks and Recreation.
