Two charged in La Ronge suspicious death investigation

When RCMP responded to a report of shots fired outside a residence at Bells Point in La Ronge, they found a deceased man.

One person arrested in the same investigation was released without charges.

LA RONGE — Two people have been charged in relation to the suspicious death of 32-year-old Eric Bouchard. Eric was raised in Buffalo Narrows with his hometown being La Ronge and Stanley Mission.

Kurt Ratt, 20, and River Miller, 22, both from La Ronge, are each charged with first-degree murder and assault.

They will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on May 19.

One person arrested in the same investigation was released without charges.

The case is being led by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, assisted by La Ronge RCMP detachment, Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Identification Services and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.

Around 4 a.m. May 17, La Ronge RCMP received a report of shots fired outside a residence at Bells Point in La Ronge. RCMP responded and located an injured male. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
