The Honourable Russ Mirasty is sending the following message to northern Saskatchewan”

Friends, relatives, fellow northerners - greetings.  I am speaking to you from Regina during this difficult time in our lives, as we all face the impacts of the COVID-19 virus.

Northern Saskatchewan is in our thoughts every day, and especially now because of the current outbreaks in northern communities. Donna and I extend our sincere condolences to the families who recently lost elders to the virus. We appreciate the role that elders have within our families and communities, and their passing is heartbreaking.

I want to acknowledge and thank all of the front line healthcare workers, police officers, EMTs, and all of the people behind the scenes, who are working to support these service providers.

I want to thank community leaders for their leadership during this difficult time, and the volunteers who have stepped forward to help.

All of these people that I’ve mentioned are doing the best they can, and to make their job a little easier, we all need to do our part by staying home and keeping our families and communities safe.  Donna and I look forward to when we can travel and visit northern communities again.
