THE BATTLEFORDS — A video circulating on social media in the area depicting an apparent assault with a weapon has sparked rumours of a death, but police say so far no victim has been located or identified.
Battlefords RCMP issued a release Monday morning saying they are aware of the video and can confirm a complaint was made at the time of the incident shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12.
Police say the incident occurred in a parking lot near a business in Battleford and that a suspect was located a short time afterwards and arrested without incident.
No weapon was located at the time of arrest, say RCMP, and at this time, no victim has been identified or come forward. Checks at hospitals in the area have been negative.
No charges have been laid at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing.
