Wanted man arrested in traffic stop

A traffic stop near White City has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man wanted by Lloydminster RCMP.

White City RCMP were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 48 at White City Thursday morning at about 7:30 a.m. when they clocked a vehicle going 91 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver, the lone occupant, was arrested when a check revealed he is wanted for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, impaired over 80 mg, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property in Alberta.

The subject was arrested and is in the process of being returned to Lloydminster RCMP.

He is also facing charges under the Traffic Safety Act for speeding and operating an unregistered vehicle in White City. The fine for traveling 91 km/h in a 60 km/h zone is $182.
