The North Battleford Fire Department responded to a fire at TG Watch Industries, located at 10014 Fyfe Ave in Parson Industrial Park, Thursday at 4:38 p.m.

May 4 was BATC Urban Treaty Day in Treaty 6 territory. To mark the occasion Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs held a full day of activities at the Dekker Centre in North Battleford.

There has been talk of moving the Battleford Parade and fireworks to another date, but nothing is going to change this year.

The 1600 block of 97th Street will be closed Wednesdat from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for sewer replacement.

Grass fires continue to be a concern in North Battleford with a fire ban still in effect in the area. The latest grass fire was at the intersection of 103rd Street and 5th Avenue in North Battleford. The fire alarm came in shortly before 6:30 p.m.

The Loon Lake RCMP and Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers are seeking in locating Tenena Lynne Chief. Chief was last seen April 28 at Island Lake First Nation, and police say she is believed to be in that area.

After months of discussion, Humboldt city council has passed the 2016 Budget.

Humboldt Fire Department received another two calls this week to attend to fires in the area. The first one on Apr. 25 was to a farm yard south of the city.

The Association of Saskatchewan Realtors has presented grants to six charities in the province and one of them is in the Battlefords.
