The 92nd Annual Men’s Open Bonspiel begins play tonight (March 19) at Twin Rivers Curling Club in the Northland Power Curling Centre with draws at 6:30 and 9 p.m.
One hundred and eight curlers representing 27 teams will compete in four events Thursday night, Friday afternoon and evening and all weekend. Curlers come from around the province to compete in this event and this year there are players from Regina, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Isle la Crosse, Spiritwood and Wilkie.
The bonspiel is also a homecoming of sorts for some players as names like Shutra, Tenetuik and Gansauge return to where they grew up and first learned the sport.
Event finals run Sunday at 2 p.m, The bonspiel is open for viewing by the public.
