The Battlefords AAA Stars are on to round two.

After dropping game four in Saskatoon, the Stars rebounded for a 4-3 win in the decisive game five to eliminate the Contacts.

Tuesday the Stars went to Saskatoon looking to advance, but a four-goal outburst in the first period by the Contacts sent the series back to the Civic Centre.

Jimmy Lambert lead the way for the Contacts, scoring twice and adding an assist in the win.

Spencer Bast and Braydon Buziak each had a goal and an assist for the Stars in the losing effort.

Game five at the Civic Centre Wednesday was do-or-die for both teams.

Like every other game in the series, it was the Stars jumping out first when Owen Lamb scored his first of the playoffs to give the Stars the lead.

Troy Gerein and Keelan Saworski were given the assists on the goal.

Midway through the second, Kelowna Rockets prospect Kole Lind scored his fourth goal of the series to tie the game at one.

Lind had a hat trick, including the overtime winner, in game one.

With one minute remaining in the period, the Stars top offencive duo of Bast and Layne Young combined to restore the North Stars lead.

Bast's assist was his ninth point in five playoff games, while Young had seven points in the series.

Just 45 seconds into the third period, Brandon Lesko burst down the left wing before firing a perfect shot over the glove of Declan Hobbs to give the Stars a 3-1 lead.

Less than two minutes later, 2014 first-round pick of the Vancouver Giants Dawson Holt cut the lead to one when he scored on the power play.

Not even a minute later, Traye Tkatchuk threw a long wrist shot on goal from the blueline that beat a screened Hobbs to restore the Stars two-goal lead.

Cole Young cut the Stars lead down to one once again when he scored five minutes after Tkatchuk.

The Contacts threw 13 shots on Stars goalie Brett Pongracz in the third, but couldn't solve him after Young's goal as the Stars held on for the 4-3 win.

The Stars are in for a tough second-round matchup as they will face the league-leading Tisdale Trojans.

The Trojans beat the Stars in three of four games this season.

The date for game one is not known.
