For the first time in four years, Andrew Albers is starting a major league baseball game in North America.

Albers, from North Battleford, has been named the starter for Friday night's home game for the Minnesota Twins against the Milwaukee Brewers at Target Field. Game time is 6:10 p.m. Saskatchewan time.

Albers will be up against Eric Lauer who has a record of 4-4 and a 3.59 ERA.

This marks the first start for the season with the Twins for Albers who spent most of this season in the minors with AAA St. Paul. Albers was called up last week and played in relief against the New York Yankees; going into tonight's game he has a 2.25 ERA and four strikeouts.

His last major league start came in 2017, when he was with the Seattle Mariners.
