Battle West teams head to provincials

The atmosphere at the Northland Curling Centre crackled with youthful enthusiasm at the end of last week as Twin Rivers Curling Club hosted the Battle West Athletic Association senior district curling playdowns.

Teams from throughout the region competed for a chance to advance to the regional competition in Meadow Lake Feb. 27 and 28.

Unity won gold in the boys’ and girls’ categories, while the mixed gold went to Leoville with Spiritwood getting silver.

The North Battleford Comprehensive High School boys’ and girls’ teams both won silver medals. Spiritwood also took bronze in the boys’ category. Wilkie won bronze in the girls’ and Macklin in mixed.
