Battlefords hockey scoreboard for Dec. 17-19

Plenty of teams hold their final games before the Christmas break

Plenty of hockey took place over the weekend in the Battlefords and area, but it will be quiet until the new year.

THE BATTLEFORDS - Here is a look at some of the hockey action involving Battlefords teams over the past few days as we enter the Christmas break for most clubs.

In male U18 action, the Battlefords AAA Stars have entered the holiday break on a bit of a down note, dropping two games to the Regina Pat Canadians on Friday and Saturday on the road. 

Friday's game saw Regina win 5-1, with Dawson Gerwing scoring the lone Stars goal. On Saturday the Pat Canadians shut out the Stars 2-0?

In AA U18 action the Northwest Stars lost 5-3 to Prince Albert on Saturday. The game was at Flying Dust Arena. 

In female U18 action the Battlefords Sharks fell to the Regina Rebels Friday night 6-3, despite two goals from Alexis Palchinski, and a goal from Maci Nowosad. Regina won again Saturday over the Sharks by a 4-0 score.

In senior action in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League from Friday, Meota Combines topped Radisson 5-2, Turtleford beat Battleford Beaver Blues 7-3 and Maymont beat Spiritwood 11-5. Saturday, the Combines topped Maymont 14-3, Turtleford beat Radisson 6-5 and Perdue beat Maidstone 5-3. The SPHL have one more game scheduled prior to the Christmas break on Tuesday, Dec. 21, as Perdue hosts Meota.
