Recently it hasn't seemed to matter who is in net for the Battlefords North Stars or where the offence is coming from, they just continue to win.

Tuesday, the North Stars were in Nipawin and earned their sixth straight win and hold a streak of 15-1-0-1 dating back to Oct. 14.

The North Stars trailed Nipawin 1-0 after the first period, after the Hawks' Alex Laird beat Graham Hildebrand on one of the 15 first-period shots.

In the second, it was all North Stars, as they out worked Nipawin, out shot them 15-9 and out scored them 3-0.

Blake Tatchell broke the shutout, as he netted his 23rd goal and 50th point to lead the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in scoring. Woody Klassen and Brett Miller had the assists on the goal 1:29 into the second.

The offence continued with the second line producing, as Roger Tagoona was credited with his first goal as a North Star from Tanner Schwab and Kyle Hall.

Tatchell struck again shortly after the second goal and increased the North Stars lead, as Miller drew his second assist of the game.

In the third period, on a power play, Hall stretched the North Stars lead to three goals, as he scored on the power play from Schwab and Tagoona.

Stuart Holland answered for the Hawks later in the third period, but Ryne Keller put the final nail in the coffin with his fifth of the season from linemates Tanner Quinn and Jake Daughtry.

Hildebrand made 24 saves for the win while the North Stars scored five goals on 27 shots on Taran Kozun. Nipawin was 0/6 on the power play while the North Stars were 1/4.

Several North Stars either started a point streak or continued one after Tuesday's game. Tatchell has recorded at least a point in 18 straight games. His streak includes 19 goals and 16 assists. Keller's doesn't extend that far, but he has a five-game point streak going with four goals and an assist. Miller had a three-game streak going with a goal and four assists.

The North Stars will look to keep their winning streak and point streaks alive, as they host the Notre Dame Hounds for the second and final time this season Friday night.

The North Stars have beat the Hounds 6-2 and 5-4 in a shootout this season and look to add to their SJHL leading 21-5-0-2 record. The Hounds hold fifth place in the Sherwood Conference with a 9-14-0-3 mark this season.

The next North Stars action will be Tuesday, as the Estevan Bruins are in the Battlefords.

The Humboldt Broncos are the closest team to the North Stars with a 17-10-1-2 record.
