Cheese heads over Steel town in Super Bowl 45

If it came down to the crunch again, there aren't many NFL football followers who wouldn't want Ben Roethlisberger to be the one to lead their team on a final drive in the last minute of the Super Bowl. Big Ben dropped to 2-1 in the Super Bowl.

If it came down to the crunch again, there aren't many NFL football followers who wouldn't want Ben Roethlisberger to be the one to lead their team on a final drive in the last minute of the Super Bowl.

Big Ben dropped to 2-1 in the Super Bowl. Although he didn't have a great game tossing two interceptions, he still put his team in a position to drive the field and win the game. There is something about him that you can't vote against. I was rooting for Green Bay to win, but told anyone who asked that I thought Pittsburgh would come away as champions simple Roethlisberger finds ways to win.

Hats off, or should I say foam cheese blocks off, to the Green Bay Packers. They played a great game and persevered after some key injuries during the game and ultimately had a better game plan and better execution to lead to the victory.

There is no team sport more dependant on an individual than football. In hockey, the goalie has to deal with the pressure, but with a good game plan and strong defence in front of him, his night could be easier. Starting pitchers in baseball sometimes have the stars align and are perfect. Other days they can't make it out of the second inning and can be blamed for a win or loss. Still, the quarterback is the true individual player on any team. The QB is the heart and sole and nine out of 10 times the reason a team wins or loses. Rogers was able to handle that pressure and made good decisions with pinpoint throws. Even when his receivers had some big drops, he still led his team to the win.

Aaron Rogers played a great game, leading the Packers to a Super Bowl championship, something his teacher Brett Farve did in Green Bay. Rogers, however, was the best player and won the MVP, something Farve never did. If nothing else it is good to see Farve hopefully ride off into his 16th sunset and finally retire while the team, who had him and made him what he is wins, the Super Bowl in the same year. I was a Brett Farve fan, but the recent comebacks have bored me with the way he makes headlines - his off field antics instead of play on the field.

I guess the good thing, if you were a Steelers fan and one of the 400 turned away at the stadium because of seating would be that they didn't have to watch it happen. The Super Bowl is the largest stage for any sporting event and although there wasn't a wardrobe malfunction, the seating problem is something that gives the NFL and Dallas Cowboys a black eye. They did refund those fans three times the face value of their tickets. But if that was me planning to watch the Grey Cup in Edmonton, and after making a last minute decision to go to the game and someone turned me away, saying I couldn't have my seat until next year, I may have tested how much strength I have built up in my arms from the workout challenge. I would imagine with the security there it wouldn't go well. It was amazing that all they could do was find fans places to watch the game on the monitors instead of live in the stadium.

I think the best idea would be instead, of trying to set the attendance record for a Super Bowl, they should have just made sure everyone with a ticket got into the game to watch.

There was room in the box seat with A-Rod, why couldn't 20 people file in there and watch with him and Cameron Diaz?
