Eagles and Jets are soaring in NSRHL

The top two teams both earned points against Edam on the weekend, but Friday it was just a single point for the Jets. The Edam 3-Stars earned two points with a 5-4 win against Edam. Jordan Blaquiere scored in overtime from Josh LaClare and Keagan Bourelle to earn the victory. O'Neil Baillargeon and Ryan Roach scored singles for Edam while Brennen Weitzel had two goals in the win. Troy Johnston scored twice and Jason Roberts and Tyler Johnston scored singles for the Jets.

The next night, Edam fell 13-3 to St. Walburg. Jordan Fuder had seven points while Sheldon Williamson had a hat trick and three assists to lead the offence in the lopsided win.

St. Walburg also won 3-1 Friday night over Spiritwood with Duane Larre, Kevin Nasby and Clarke Tavanetz scoring for the Eagles and Bryan Bridges earning the win.

The Eagles sit at a perfect 9-0-0 this season and will play four games in eight days heading into the Christmas break.

Maidstone also played Sunday at home to Wilkie and won 3-2. The Jets moved to 7-2-1 while Wilkie dropped to fifth place with a 3-4-0 record on the year.

Other games from the weekend had Wilkie win in Turtleford 6-3 with Bobby Bachman scoring twice and adding an assist to lead the offence. Barrett Penner, Will Rathje, Mike Sittler and Kyle Wagner all scored for the Outlaws. Kris Bloom, Adam Gray and Damen Weekus were the Turtleford goal scorers.

Meadow Lake also beat Paradise Hill 11-3 Saturday and Spiritwood edged Turtleford 8-5 in a game played in Medstead Wednesday. Quinton Tipewan score a natural hat trick for the Timberwolves to lead them to the win.

There was no score reported at press time from the game between Wilkie and Edam Wednesday.
