On the weekend in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League, the only unbeaten team took on the only winless team in Wilcox.

The Battlefords AAA Sharks took on the Notre Dame Hounds and it was the Hounds improving to 5-0-0-0 while the Sharks fell to 0-9-2-0.

Amanda Grainger was the Sharks' lone goal scorer on the weekend as they lost 9-1 and 11-0.

Saturday, the Hounds led 3-0 after the first. Grainger's fourth of the season, which came early in the second, tied her for the team lead in goals scored with Jamie Fedler. Fedler and Delaney Ross had the assists on the second period powerplay goal.

The Hounds responded with five goals in the second and one in the third to earn the win.

The Sharks' goalies, Hannah Brock and Jacy Akre, split the time with Brock allowing eight goals on 37 shots and Akre allowing one goal on 25 shots in just over 25 minutes played.

Olivia Howe led the Hounds' offence with two goals and an assist while Natasha Kostenko had two goals. Samantha Langford earned the win without making a save, as she played the first period for the Hounds while the Sharks didn't register a shot. Langford was relieved by Laura Wiebe, who made 15 saves in two periods.

Sunday afternoon, it was more of the same for the Sharks, as they were outshot 78-9.

The Hounds held period leads of 4-0, 9-0 and 11-0. Notre Dame scored four powerplay goals and a shorthanded marker with Jennifer More leading the offence with two goals and two assists.

Wiebe was the winning goalie Sunday, while the Sharks' goaltenders, again, split time. Brock faced 19 shots in 16 minutes and allowed four goals. Akre faced 59 shots stopping 52.

Next for the Sharks is a game in Prince Albert Thursday against the 2-6-1-0 Bears. Following that, they are at home to Saskatoon Saturday and Sunday.
