HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Broncos are moving to the next round of playoffs.

On March 27, the sixth game of a seven-game series, the Broncos defeated the La Ronge Ice Wolves 5-3, winning the series 4-2.

The game started on the right foot for the Broncos, with Humboldt's Cage Newans earning the only goal of the first period.

In the second period, La Ronge's Taylor Webb evened the score, before the Broncos' Lucas Ceccarelli scored against to get back ahead. Webb then scored a power play goal for La Ronge.

It was the third period where the Broncos were able to maintain a lead. Newans and Ceccarelli scored for Humboldt, followed with a goal by La Ronge's Ryley Morgan. Rhett Gibson sealed the deal for the Broncos with one last goal.

Rayce Ramsay of the Broncos stopped 26 of out 29 shots, while Xavier Cannon of the Ice Wolves stopped 27 out of 32 shots.
