As of Feb. 5, Rayce Ramsay earned his 32nd victory of the season, a milestone not reached since the 2001-02 season.

HUMBOLDT — With a shutout Saturday, Rayce Ramsay earned his 32nd victory of the season. This is the most wins by a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League goalie in two decades. In 2001-02, the Nipawin Hawks’ Shaun Lee won 32 games.

“Overall, our team defence did a great job of keeping Nipawin on the outside of the game most of the night,” Humboldt head coach Scott Barney said. “Rayce made some big saves when needed and looked very calm in the net.”

Ramsay has played in 41 of the team’s 47 games. He led the SJHL in minutes played with 2,433. Regarding his recent accomplishment, Ramsay stated on the team’s website:

“I was a little surprised when I first found out about it. Honestly, I think it's more of a testament to how well we have come together and competed as a team so far this year. We work hard in practice and the boys come to win every single night. Our goal remains to be at the top of the standings and win a championship, and I think this is just a reflection of that work ethic from everyone.”
